Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen called on OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha Monday morning at the intergovernmental organisation's headquarters in Jeddah.

The repatriation of forcibly displaced Rohingyas to their homeland in Myanmar and the mobilisation of resources for the case at the International Court of Justice was the main agenda of discussion.

During the meeting, the foreign secretary reiterated the importance of the roles of the OIC and its member states in addressing this critical issue.

While appreciating the humanitarian support extended by the government and people of Bangladesh and expressing serious concern about the present situation in Myanmar, the secretary-general assured that the OIC will continue to engage itself more actively to bring a sustainable solution to the problem.

The foreign secretary also expressed deep concern about the banning of the educational right of girls and women in Afghanistan and the increasing trends of defamation of the holy Quran and the rise of Islamophobia in many parts of the world and appreciated the actions taken by OIC.

He asked for continued decisive action by the OIC as the "collective voice of Muslim ummah" to address these issues.

Later, in presence of the secretary-general, the foreign secretary and the assistant secretary-general for science and technology of the OIC signed the headquarters agreement of the Islamic University of Technology, a subsidiary organisation of the OIC.
